School Closings due to COVID-19

We are in uncertain times…. Coronavirus(COVID-19) is spreading, schools are closing and many jobs are transitioning to working from home. We need to remember that we will get through this if we continue to work together during this global pandemic.  My Epilepsy Story (MES) is committed to helping you as you navigate the new normal of schooling your children at home.  We have compiled a list of activities and school resources to use during this time:

Please remember to be mindful of how much time your child spends on the computer and watching television. Limit the amount of time spent watching/reading the news as this can make you and your child depressed and anxious.  Here are some tips to help you set a new routine:

  • Set a schedule
  • Pray/Meditate Daily
  • Do some type of daily exercise
  • Get plenty of sleep
  • Talk about your feelings
  • Eat healthy
  • Lots of hand washing
  • Enjoy your time at home with your family
  • Watch family movies and television shows (some of our favorites are The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, & The Andy Griffith Show to name a few)

These are just a few tools that we recommend to use for educational resources during this time.  We have many others to share so feel to reach out to me at Education@MyEpilepsyStory.org to help you navigate this new time.
